Leslie McBay is a Toronto-based performer, producer, theatre creator and lover of chocolate pudding. A graduate of the University of Toronto and Sheridan College’s joint Acting program, Leslie grew up in Northern Ontario (Sault Ste. Marie, to be exact) where she co-founded a prolific youth theatre company.
Leslie is an Artistic Producer with Headstrong Collective in Toronto, a company dedicated to creating more opportunities for female-identified, LGBTQ and culturally diverse performers and audiences. Headstrong projects have included Licking Knives by co-founder Melanie Hrymak (2014 Toronto Fringe Festival, 2015 SpringWorks Festival, published May 2015), Romeo and (her) Juliet (September 2014, winner of Best Ensemble and Best Director at My Entertainment World Theatre Awards), and Mamet’s Boston Marriage (sold-out run April 2015). Last December, Leslie produced and assistant directed Man to Man under director Kelli Fox (in a Double Bill with Licking Knives).
Leslie is an all-season cyclist, nerd, and avid cuddler of her pup Starbuck.
